Terms of service
Last updated: 22 April 2026
Thanks for using Wozani. These terms are the agreement between you and Wozani (info@wozani.app) when you use our apps and services. If you don't agree, don't use the app, it's that simple.
Your account
- You must be at least 13 to create an account.
- Keep your password reasonably private. If you suspect someone else is using your account, change it or email us.
- One person, one account. Don't impersonate other people or museums.
- We may suspend an account if it is being used to harass, spam, or break the law. We'll tell you why if we can.
Content you create
When you publish a tour, a stop, a commentary, a rating, or an image on Wozani, you keep the copyright. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, stream, cache, and transcode that content so that we can run the service and make it available to other visitors. This licence lasts for as long as the content is on Wozani; if you delete it, the licence ends except for reasonable backup retention (see the privacy policy).
You are responsible for what you post. By publishing content, you confirm that:
- You created it, or you have the right to share it.
- It doesn't infringe anybody's copyright, trademark, or privacy.
- It isn't harassing, defamatory, misleading, or illegal.
- Any photo of an artwork you upload either comes from a museum's own channels, a public-domain source, or your own camera, and the attribution information is accurate.
We can remove content that breaks these rules. A museum curator or administrator can also flag a commentary or tour about their own collection, and flagged content is removed from the app. You can always appeal a removal by emailing us. The full rules live in the Content policy and the Creator agreement; the reporting channel and appeals procedure are in our Notice-and-action procedure.
We won't license, sell, or otherwise monetise your commentary outside the app without your explicit consent. If Wozani earns revenue from tours, for example through paid tours, subscriptions, or partnerships, creators whose work is used will share in that revenue on terms published in advance in the Creator agreement.
AI-generated material
Commentaries may be AI-drafted, AI-voiced, or AI-translated. The creator is responsible for reviewing that output before publishing it. We label AI-voiced stops so listeners can opt in or out in their preferences. The full rules, when disclosure is required, what counts as "assistance" vs. "generation", and what's disallowed, are in our AI disclosure policy.
What we provide
- The app is offered "as is." We aim for it to work, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service or that every tour will be accurate.
- Tour content is written by creators, not by Wozani. We moderate when things are flagged, but we don't vet every word.
- Verified commentaries carry a badge meaning a museum curator or subject-matter expert vouched for that commentary, not that Wozani did. Visitors can choose to filter non-verified commentaries out of their listening.
- Museum verification badges on a tour mean a museum admin vouched for the tour, not that Wozani did.
Your behaviour
You agree not to:
- Scrape, reverse-engineer, or mass-download the content catalogue.
- Use Wozani to distribute malware, spam, or illegal content.
- Try to impersonate a museum or a Wozani administrator.
- Submit fake flags or ratings to game the ranking.
Payment
Wozani is run as a non-profit. If we introduce paid tours or subscriptions later, we'll update these terms and tell you in-app before any charge.
Liability
To the extent allowed by law, Wozani isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses (for example, missed flights because a tour took longer than expected). Our total liability to you under these terms is capped at the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim, which for most visitors is zero.
Changes and termination
We may update these terms when the service changes. Material changes will be highlighted in-app on your next launch. You can close your account at any time from Profile → Privacy & data. We can close an account for cause as described above.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Belgium. Disputes go to the courts of Brussels unless a mandatory consumer-protection rule in your country of residence says otherwise, for EU residents, the consumer-protection rules of your home country continue to apply regardless of this clause.
