Wozani

For museums & curators

Your collection, in many voices.

Traditional audio guides are costly to produce, and one size needs to fit all. Wozani lets a community of knowledgeable and passionate people (your curators, local experts, students and lifelong enthusiasts) record short commentaries on the works you already display, each from a different perspective. You decide how involved you want to be.

Many perspectives

A single painting can carry a curator's reading, an art historian's deep-dive, and a child's favourite detail. Commentaries can range from casual to expert. Visitors specify their interests, desired depth, and time they wish to spend, and receive a custom tour that speaks to them. They can also follow existing tours, or take a picture of an object to listen to the commentary most appropriate for them.

You stay in control

Community tours are clearly marked as unofficial, and review is off by default to not spam you. Switch on notifications or pre-publication checks for the works you choose, and we take down anything you formally flag within 48 hours.

Endorse the commentaries and tours

Give a museum-certified badge to the commentaries and tours you approve. Visitors can filter to hear only endorsed voices, while everything else stays clearly marked as unofficial community content.

Reach every visitor

The app is already available in English, French, Dutch and German, and commentaries can be translated into any major language while keeping the original commentator's voice.

Automatic and human moderation

Every commentary is automatically checked before it goes live, and flagged content is always reviewed by a person. Users can also flag content for review.

See your statistics and recommendations

Museum admins can see anonymized statistics on which objects, tours and commentaries are most popular, and receive recommendations of themes popular at similar museums.

Built to be accessible

Designed for screen readers and keyboard navigation, with automatic captions for every commentary, in step with the European Accessibility Act.

Rights respected

Works still under copyright are never reproduced as images without permission. We show a clear note in their place instead. Creators keep the rights to what they record.

Non-profit, and meant to stay that way

Wozani is an independent non-profit. There is no cost to your museum.

Trust and safety

Trusted voices.

Wozani is only as good as the people on it, so trust is built into how every commentary is published and reviewed.

  • Moderated before it's heard. Every commentary passes an automated check, with AI screening for abuse and spam, before it goes live.
  • Flagged by anyone, reviewed by a person. Serious reports take a commentary offline until someone checks it; for lesser flags, no single voice can bury content on its own, and creators can always appeal.
  • Museums have the final say. Tours a museum approves carry a certified badge that visitors can filter to, and partner museums can have any content removed within 48 hours of a formal notice.
  • Transparent about AI. Any use of AI is disclosed on the commentary, and AI-voiced tours are off by default. You hear real people unless you opt in.
  • Consequences for abuse. Repeated violations cost a creator their account.
